3 Claude Tips, Plus the Prompt That Makes Claude Remember You

Resources

Every new chat with Claude starts from zero. So you retype what you do, how you write and who your customers are, and you still get generic answers.

The fix takes about 10 minutes. Paste one prompt that makes Claude interview you, answer out loud, and it writes three short files: your voice, your business and your audience. Put them in a free Claude Project, and every chat inside it starts with them, so Claude already knows who you are.

This page is the cheat sheet from the reel: the interview prompt, the three templates with an example each, and the setup. After that come the other two tips, for landing pages and video edits.

How do you make Claude remember you?

What you need: a free Claude account, about 10 minutes, and two or three things you've actually written (emails, posts or messages).

  1. Make a project. In Claude, open Projects and create a new one. Call it Brain. Free accounts can make up to five.
  2. Run the interview. Start a chat inside the project, paste the prompt below, and answer out loud with the mic button instead of typing (click it on desktop, hold it on your phone). Messy answers are fine.
  3. Check the three files. Read each one. If something doesn't sound like you, say what's off and let Claude fix it.
  4. Add them to the project. Save each file and add all three to the project's knowledge. From now on, start every work chat inside that project, and it already knows who you are.

The interview prompt

I want you to build your own brain about me: three short files you'll read at the start of every chat, so I never have to re-explain myself.

1. voice.md: how I write
2. business.md: what I do and sell
3. audience.md: who I do it for

Interview me to get what you need. Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer. I'm answering out loud with dictation, so my answers will be messy: pull out what matters. If an answer is vague, ask one follow-up before moving on.

Ask about 10 questions in total, roughly:
- Voice: ask me to paste two or three things I've actually written (emails, posts, messages). Then ask how I sound with customers, the words and phrases I use a lot, and the words I'd never use.
- Business: what I do in one sentence, what I sell and roughly what it costs, how a typical job runs from first contact to done, and why people pick me over the alternatives.
- Audience: who buys from me, what's going wrong for them before they find me, the exact words they use for that problem, and what makes them say yes.

Rules:
- Don't write anything until the interview is finished.
- Don't invent anything. If you're missing something, ask me, or write [TO FILL].
- In voice.md, copy my writing samples word for word. Real samples beat adjectives like "friendly".
- Keep each file under a page: short headings and bullet points, in plain markdown.
- Leave out passwords, customer names, contact details and anything else private.

When we're done, write each file in its own code block so I can copy it, then ask me what sounds wrong or is missing, and fix it.

The three templates

The interview fills these in for you. Use them to spot what's missing, or to write a file by hand. Under each one is a made-up example.

Template 1: voice.md, how you write

# voice.md: how I write

## Tone
- With customers: [e.g. warm, plain English, never pushy]
- With my team: [e.g. quick and to the point]

## Habits
- Sentence length: [short / medium / long]
- Formatting: [e.g. no emojis, short paragraphs, steps as a numbered list]
- Words and phrases I use: [list them]
- Words I never use: [list them]

## Samples (word for word)
### [An email to a customer]
[paste it here]

### [A post or a message]
[paste it here]

A made-up example:

# voice.md: how I write

## Tone
- With customers: calm, plain English, a bit of dry humour
- With my team: quick and to the point

## Habits
- Sentence length: short, one idea per sentence
- Formatting: no emojis in client emails, steps as a numbered list
- Words and phrases I use: "sorted", "here's the plan", "no stress"
- Words I never use: "leverage", "synergy", "per my last email"

## Samples (word for word)
### A reminder email to a client
Hi Priya, quick one. Your VAT return is due on the 7th and I'm missing March's fuel receipts. Snap them on your phone and send them over, and I'll have it sorted by Friday.

Template 2: business.md, what you do

# business.md: what I do

## In one sentence
[What you do, the way you'd say it to a friend]

## What I sell
- [Offer]: [what's included], [price or range]
- [Offer]: [what's included], [price or range]

## How a job runs
1. [First contact, e.g. a free 20-minute call]
2. [What happens next]
3. [What "done" looks like]

## Why people pick me
- [Reason]
- [Reason]

## Never promise
- [e.g. a guaranteed result, a same-day turnaround]

A made-up example:

# business.md: what I do

## In one sentence
I keep small businesses' books tidy, so tax deadlines stop being a panic.

## What I sell
- Monthly bookkeeping: bank reconciliation and a one-page report, from $200 a month
- Year-end accounts and tax return: from $800

## How a job runs
1. A free 20-minute call to see what state the books are in
2. A fixed monthly price, agreed up front
3. Receipts come in as phone photos, and a report goes out by the 10th of each month

## Why people pick me
- One person who knows your books, not a call centre
- Fixed prices, no surprise bills

## Never promise
- A tax refund, or a lower tax bill than the rules allow

Template 3: audience.md, who you do it for

# audience.md: who I do it for

## Who they are
[Job, business type and size, where they are]

## What's going wrong before they find me
- [Problem, in plain words]
- [Problem]

## The words they use
- "[An exact phrase from an email, a call or a review]"

## What makes them say yes
- [e.g. a fixed price, a referral, seeing it done for someone like them]

## What puts them off
- [Objection]

A made-up example:

# audience.md: who I do it for

## Who they are
Owners of trade and shop businesses with 1 to 10 staff, who do their own admin in the evenings.

## What's going wrong before they find me
- Receipts in a shoebox and a deadline coming up
- They've been fined for filing late before

## The words they use
- "I'm drowning in paperwork"
- "I just want someone to deal with it"

## What makes them say yes
- A fixed monthly price
- A recommendation from another business owner

## What puts them off
- Jargon, and anyone who makes them feel bad about the mess

Using ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude Code?

  • ChatGPT: create a Project and upload the three files.
  • Gemini: create a Gem on the web and add the three files under Knowledge.
  • Claude Code: put the files in your project folder and import them from CLAUDE.md with @voice.md, @business.md and @audience.md.

Rules

  • Keep passwords, customer names and contact details out of the files.
  • Paste real writing into voice.md. Samples beat adjectives like "friendly".
  • Update business.md when your prices or your offer change.

What do the other two Claude tips do?

Tip 1: make Claude work as a designer and a builder

Ask Claude for your landing page and tell it to work as two people, a designer and a builder. The builder can't ship until the designer signs off, so you never see the ugly first draft.

Claude builds the page right in the chat as an artifact, on every plan including free. If it doesn't appear, switch on code execution and file creation in Settings, under Capabilities.

Tip 2: show Claude a video you love, then raise the bar

Hand Claude Code a video you love and tell it to edit yours in this style. Then add two lines. First, "go beyond the basics": Anthropic's own prompting guide says to ask for above-and-beyond work outright, rather than hope Claude works it out. Then, "now show me why you're the best video editor in the world."

This one does need setting up. Claude edits video by writing code, so it runs in Claude Code with tools like ffmpeg or Remotion. Our AI video editing prompt is a full edit prompt to start from.
